So Much To Do

Well, If you haven't noticed, the posts have been few and far-between lately.  My to-do list just kept growing for a few weeks, there, and I couldn't seem to catch up.  I've had a number of big events for work and have been saving the few hours that I have at home for my hubby.  But, luckily, the last big event for a little bit was this past Friday, so things will hopefully settle down {at work, at least}.

Even though work will {hopefully} calm down for a bit, since I've started working within the design realm, I just continue to add things to my to do list that I need want to do to the house.  I see an idea and think, "Oooo, I want to try that", or "Oh, maybe I could do this..." and the list just grows and grows....

I know, for some of you parents out there, you're finally getting your break--the kids are going back to school and the routine is back in full swing.  For others, you're trying to cram those last few outings and events in with the kiddos before back-to-school shopping and meet-the-teacher.

So, for all of US who have things TO DO, whether it's house projects, places to go, things to buy, or people to see, I've found some free printable to do lists that will help us organize our time.

Pintrest? Yes, please.

Well, it took me long enough, but I am finally on Pintrest.  I got invited by two different people after seeing all sorts of nonesense about it on Facebook and in blog-world, but didn't do anything for a good 3 weeks.  Finally, I got reminded {you know you're busy when...} TWICE and set-up my account.  Slowly, I've been getting into it.  At first, I just pinned one thing, but slowly, I'm pinning more and more.   Let me tell you...it. is. dangerous.  Regardless, there's no denying the cool stuff {and set-up} of Pintrest.  It's super easy and offers endless possibilites for design inspiration.

You know how I love FREE printables and art prints, so today I was pumped when I found Make It Perfect {another great blog} with these great FREE art prints posted.

One word.

Cool.

Go check it out and print yours for free.  You can use them for framing or small items like cards.

Hope You're Enjoying Pinning As Much As I Am!

Tick Tock

Phew!  Where has the time gone?
It seems like the past 3 weeks have flown by in such a blur that I've barely had time to clean my house!
{trust me...there's something wrong when I can't even find time to clean my house}
This past school year was my last for teaching.  I finished out 5 good years, graduated with my Interior Design degree and moved right into a job at an interior design firm doing marketing and now design assistant work.

It's what I wanted, no doubt.
I am completely loving it, but it is definitely a transition and I am re-learning how to manage my time.  Bear with me as I transition into this new chapter of my life and begin again.  It's exciting, scary, sweet, and sour all at once.

On a great note, I've had lots of time with family and friends lately, which is also another reason why things have seemed been so busy.  And as the grand finale to summer, I am so looking forward to seeing a number of wonderful college friends in just a few short days.  It's hard to believe I will be celebrating my 5 year wedding anniversary in a little over a month, my 10 year high school reunion in 1 year, and will be seeing college friends from 5 years ago in 9 days!

Life goes by so quickly and I think {for me, at least} I don't take the time to appreciate all of the small steps in between life's big events.
I heard a wise man once say--"...we are so worried about getting to that next step...when we're in high school, we can't wait to get to college, once we get to college, we can't wait to find that perfect job, and then to get married, after that, a house, then kids, then a pool...
that we forget about what's in front of us
right now
and we miss out on opportunities the Lord gives us..."
Food for thought?
{because it definitely was for me}

Since we're talking about time, I thought I'd share with you this cool clock screen saver.
You can download it for free HERE.

Don't let the time tick away too quickly.

Fun with Bunting

For some reason, I've become somewhat addicted to bunting.  I just think it adds the cutest touch to a party, playroom, or even on stationary.

Flower Fun

Even though the month of May has passed, I am still loving flowers for June {and all of summer, for that matter}.  I wanted to share with you a few cute flower items and accessories that you can either purchase online or follow the tutorial and make for yourself!  I've found these items in various places {because flowers are EVERYWHERE, you know}, so the direct link and name is shown below each one.

First, flower rings
{for sale}

She has mum flower rings and rose flower rings for only $4 each {plus tax and shipping}!  They come in a variety of colors and would make a great summer accessory!
Check it out at SloDayDesign.
You'll have to call her or email her if you'd like to purchase one of the rings.

Second, flower bookmarks
{tutorial}

Since I've been able to get back in to reading, I have wanted a cute bookmark...and you can't get much cuter than this {unless it was personalized}!
These two talented ladies over at Little Birdie Secrets give a great, easy-to-follow tutorial here.
Check it out!

Third, flower gift tags
{printables for purchase}

Sometimes, the wrapping is just as important as the gift.  If you're like me, and you love to make your gift wrapping perfect, check out this flower gift embellishment printable.
You can purchase it for $4.00 at the PaperGlitter Etsy Shop.

Fourth, rosette necklaces
{for sale}

These necklaces are available at the Ruffles 'n Such Etsy Shop for $10.00!  Jill over at Made it on Monday featured them on her blog.  So cute!

Finally, ribbon flower accessory
{tutorial}
Check out this great ribbon flower tutorial by Katie over at Something About Katie.  She has added embellishments to the flower in the picture, as well as attaching it to a headband, but you could switch things up and make it into a pin or simply sew it to a pillow.  Either way, there are only 3 supplies involved {ribbon, needle, and thread} and it's super easy!

Enjoy!

A Graduation and Another Free Printable

My sister is graduating from high school today!

I can't believe she's so grown-up!  I still remember how cute and full of life she was as a baby...and how excited I was to finally be an older sister {we are 9 years apart}. She has always been the passionate, excitable, quirky one, which has been nice in a world of calm, cool, and collected.
She wears her heart on her sleeve and is usually hugging someone.  She is an amazing artist.  She loves to sing and dance. She is one of the best bowlers I have ever seen. She gives laughter a whole new meaning, and has a nickname for everyone and everything.
When I first started teaching, she was in my 8th grade class.  Over the past 5 years I have had the privilege of watching her grow; laughing and crying, struggling and succeeding, trying new things and discovering her passions all along the way.
I am so proud of her.
you are so deeply loved.

Each member of her senior class has a display board of themselves up for the graduation reception.  Here are a couple of pictures of the one my mom and I made for Emily...there would've been more but blogger isn't wanting to upload them right now.

Since you may be in the midst of graduation mayhem too, I wanted to share another free printable with you.  It's a subway art graduation card printable!

you can download it and print it here

Have a great memorial day weekend!
