Since it's Spring and I love flowers, I wanted to share this great flower craft with you. The great part about it is that it's inexpensive and easy--two of my favorite things! There are multiple simple steps that I've documented and demonstrated below so, here we go!
1. Scissors
2. Piece of fabric approximately 2"x 10"-12" in size
3. Smaller piece of fabric approximately 1" x 8" in size
4. Needle and thread to match fabric color
5. Decorative button for center
Take larger piece of fabric and {using needle and matching thread} create a running stitch along the entire length of the long edge {about an inch from the edge}
Once the running stitch is complete, pull the thread to gather the fabric.
Tie-off/knot thread once all fabric is gathered to secure in place
Sew up the opening to make the fabric edges meet. It should look like this when it's done...
Repeat process for 2nd, smaller piece of fabric {running stitch, gather, tie off...}
Sew up to create center of poppy
Attach button to center either by sewing or gluing
Place smaller flower in the middle of the larger flower then sew or glue to attach them together
Trim edges to look like the edges of a flower petal--curvy
Accessorize!!
So cute!
